What a fantastic kickoff! Our EUSD families turned out in force this past Saturday for the opening games of the Spring 2026 Flag Rugby season. It was an incredible start to our 5th season, and we are so proud to continue our partnership with the Legion Foundation to provide this high-energy experience for our student-athletes. The fields at Rincon Middle School were buzzing with sportsmanship and skill, setting a wonderful tone for the weeks of competition ahead. If you missed the action or want to plan for the next match, you can find the full season schedule at eusd.org/page/rugby-schedule-spring-2026—we look forward to seeing you all back on the sidelines next weekend!
Here are this week’s updates and reminders.
Summative ELPAC:
Students in kindergarten through grade eight who are classified as English learners will take the Summative ELPAC (English Language Proficiency Assessments for California) every year until they are reclassified as proficient in English. Administration of the Summative ELPAC began in EUSD on Monday, February 2, and will continue through Friday, May 29. Each school has a specific testing window within the EUSD window. If you have questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher or principal. To learn more about the ELPAC, go to the Starting Smarter Website.
Library programs:
The library is hosting a free Lunar New Year celebration from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, in the North County Mall Center Court, Level 1.
